Esengo Grande – Ember

Somewhere in a village in Upper East Ghana , a weaver sat with a coil of elephant grass and began at the centre. Ring by ring, the pattern grew outward, guided by memory, rhythm and practiced hands.

The Esengo Grande is not made quickly. Its circular form is built patiently, each strand woven into place before the next begins. At its heart sits a hand-cast brass mask charm—a small reminder that stories, like craftsmanship, are meant to be carried forward.

This is what we mean when we say it carries a story.
